Imagine waking up in your comfy bed with the sound of the waves dancing through your window.  Take a short stroll (only 4 houses away) to the beach for yoga, a mindful walk, meditation, journaling, reading or a workout.  Participate in learning and growth opportunities (centered around ACT, Self-Compassion and Mindfulness) throughout the day, interspersed with healthy meals. Plus, opportunities to enjoy a beach bonfire and sunsets in the evenings!  For BCBAS: ACE approved Continuing Education Units are available and included in the retreat cost.

Kathryn is a nature and mindfulness loving Behavior Analyst, ACT Matrix Facilitator and Consultant working to increase psychological flexibility in herself and others! She has additional background and certifications as a Developmental Specialist, Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) Consultant, Yoga Therapy Instructor, and as a Therapy Dog Handler. After 20 years in the field, Kathryn has a mission to creatively bring all of her passions, experience and knowledge together to share and collaborate with others to promote true thriving and growth!

Meet Bre Klebanoff, M.A. LMFT

Certified Reiki Master

East meets West with Bre Klebanoff, a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, who works with couples and individuals using Emotionally Focused Therapy with a Compassion Focused Lens. She is also a Reiki Master and incorporates the profound healing effects of energy work into her practice. Bre sees herself as a healer and is honored to assist her clients on their healing journey by utilizing a wide range of therapeutic techniques.

  • Where will we be staying?

    • The beautiful and serene retreat lodging is located in Frisco, North Carolina on the oceanside of Hatteras Island, only 4 houses from the beach.  You can hear and see the ocean from the ample decks and even inside the home.  The address will be shared upon booking.​

  • What is the OBX?

    • OBX is an abbreviation for The Outer Banks, which is a 200-mile stretch of barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia, on the east coast of the United States. It lines most of the North Carolina coastline, separating Currituck Sound, Albemarle Sound, and Pamlico Sound from the Atlantic Ocean. The Outer Banks are a major tourist destination known for their wide expanse of open beachfront and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.​

  • Where is the closest airport located?  

    • Norfolk (ORF) 145 miles

    • New Bern (EWN) 195 miles

  • How can I book transportation from the airport? 

    • There are several car services that commute to and from Norfolk to the Outer Banks. 

      • We prefer OBX Shuttle- a woman owned (252.564.9015)

      • You can also rent a car if you prefer.

  • Where is the nearest grocery store? 

    • Frisco Camp Store is just over 1 mile away. 

    • Conner's Supermarket is less than 7 miles away.

    • There are gas stations, convenience stores as well. 

    • Food Lion is in Avon 12.4 miles away.

  • Are there other shops nearby? 

    • Hatteras Landing (4.4 miles) has a few stores and there are several cute boutique stores nearby. 

    • Coastal Cottage 3.8 miles away. 

    • Buxton Village Books is 6.3 miles away.

      • Note:  Big Box Commercial stores and chain restaurants are located outside of Hatteras and you will have to travel to Kitty Hawk or Kill Devil Hills.  That is the beauty of the Outer Banks!​

  • What is the weather like in October?

    • Many locals will tell you fall is the best time to visit. Outer Banks weather is mild until the end of December, and the crowds have lessened. Expect average temperatures in the upper 70's and lows in the 60's and 50's.

  • What should I pack?

    • Pack comfortable, casual, layered clothing for warm days and slightly chilly nights.   Consider if you will be participating in yoga, walking or beach workouts and bring suitable clothing for movement.  A bathing suit, just in case it is warm, or you want to take a dip in the hot tub.  Bring any beach/sun protection you might need (ex. sunscreen, hat, etc).  Anything else that will make your stay more comfortable or enriching such as your journal, reading material, a notetaking book, etc.
